How can I reduce SPAM?

Reducing spam is an ongoing problem that is not going away.

Our cPanel servers are retrofitted with the latest SPAM assassin and ClamAV spam filtering.

We have turned this on for all customers, however some extra tweaking may be required for those customers with email accounts directly on a website, and those with older life email accounts that have been found by existing spammers.

The first thing to fix when you have too much spam is to make sure the default email address is not set.

Also you should set the "DKIM" and "SPF" settings in the "Authentication" area under "email" in the cpanel interface. SPF dramatically reduces forged emails using your domain name from other servers. "Domain keys identified emails" or DKIM is better explained at http://www.dkim.org/ . "Sender Policy Framework" or SPF is explained at http://www.openspf.org/ .
