We are please to announce that a new bypass switch has replaced a legacy switch in our co-location facility.

Our upstream provider brought power down at 21:45 on February 2nd to install a new transfer switch in the facility. What this meant was that we had no power to our servers, or any networking until 04:30 on February 3rd, 2011.

We had no control over this outage, and as per our previous announcement - it was a scheduled outage. It is unfortunate that the downtime was not the predicted one to four hours, however we are confident that our upstream provider can now install equipment on either side of the internal power grid without any future interruptions in service.

The new state of the art powerware switch replaces not only the old switch, but also some older legacy high voltage wiring in the facility also increasing our already excellent uptime in the future.

We hope that this disruption in service affected few, and were happy that no support calls were received during this downtime indicating the understanding and patience of all our customers.
